Active across Africa · The VEDDA® Standard

Verifying identity across the African financial corridor.

A standardised, infrastructure-backed verification framework for the institutions that cannot afford to be wrong about identity. Satellite-connected. Solar-powered. AI-adjudicated. Delivered to regulated service providers across Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Côte d'Ivoire — and to their Diaspora desks in the US, UK, and EU. More African countries planned.

Three pillars

Three pillars. One audit-ready standard.

Mobile capture replacing physical photocopies
01

Zero Custody

The bank fulfils its CIP duty without ever holding raw PII. Verification artefacts encrypt to Africa-region servers under VEDDA's chain of custody — not yours.

02

Infrastructure Sovereignty

Every analyst desk runs on satellite uplink + industrial solar with lithium reserve. Verifications continue at full fidelity through grid failures, ISP brown-outs, and election windows.

03

Audit-Ready Fact

PIV and CIV certificates land tamper-proof. Biometric liveness, geolocation-stamped signature, registry cross-check, analyst adjudication. One report, trusted everywhere.

    Zero-custody by design

vs. full custody and breach liability under manual CIP

The bottleneck

Manual CIP is the bottleneck.

Approximately 70% of Kenya National IDs lack retrievable biometric data. Compliance officers fill the gap with paperwork — and the institution carries the cost.

  1. 01

    Loss of time

Diaspora and corporate accounts take days to weeks. Every new account triggers a fresh paperwork cycle — even for existing members.

  2. 02

    Loss of money

Skilled compliance officers spend the day on data entry instead of risk adjudication. Manual error invites Data Protection Act and AML/CFT fines.

  3. 03

    Loss of trust

Photocopies in inboxes. Wet-ink signatures no analyst can verify. The bank holds the PII custody — and the breach risk that comes with it.

Operational sequence

Six steps. No paper.

A digital "pull" replaces document collection. The institution requests the fact; VEDDA delivers the certificate.

01

Initiate

Institution enters a basic identifier — National ID or company incorporation number — through veddaonline.com. No photocopies, no email attachments.

02

Capture

Subject completes a 3D biometric liveness check. Electronic signature is geolocation-stamped and time-verified.

03

Cross-check

Artefacts pass through registry checks: KRA, Registrar of Companies, and issuing-country databases where available.

04

Adjudicate

A licensed VEDDA Independent Analyst reviews artefacts against synthetic-shield forensics — flagging deepfake or template fraud.

05

Sign

The Regional Desk Chief signs the certificate. Tamper-proof, geolocation-stamped, time-locked — encrypted at rest on Africa-region servers.

06

Deliver

Bank receives a tamper-proof PIV or CIV certificate. CIP duty discharged. No raw PII custody.

What lands on your desk.

Ukweli kabla ya hati. Truth before paperwork.

VEDDA is a discipline as much as a platform. Three commitments govern every certificate that leaves the network — without exception, without override, without local discretion.

Pathogen-free foundation

Nothing in custody we cannot release. Raw PII never persists in your systems or VEDDA's beyond verification.

Never adulterated

Synthetic Shield filters deepfakes and template fraud before adjudication. No silent passes.

One step backward

Every certificate is reproducible from the audit hash. Regulators can re-walk the chain to source.

The Elevator model

PIV and CIV for identity. PEDD and CEDD for diligence.

Biometric liveness capture replacing photocopies

PIV · Personal Identity Verification

Biometric liveness, not photocopies.

3D biometric liveness, geolocation-stamped e-signature, registry cross-check, analyst adjudication. Delivered as a tamper-proof PIV certificate.

  • Liveness · 0.95+ confidence threshold
  • Issuing-country registry cross-check
  • Geolocation-stamped e-signature

CIV · Corporate Identity Verification

Beneficial owners, in the clear.

CR12, incorporation, KRA standing, and director PIVs in one report — no insecure email, no raw-PII custody. Audit-ready fact.

  • CR12 + incorporation pulled from Registrar of Companies
  • Director PIVs auto-attached to the corporate report
  • AML/CFT-defensible chain of custody
Enhanced due diligence analyst desk

PEDD · Personal Enhanced Due Diligence

Deeper scrutiny when stakes are higher.

Beyond identity. PEP screening, sanctions lists, adverse media, and source-of-wealth verification for high-value or politically exposed subjects.

  • PEP and sanctions screening (OFAC, UN, EU consolidated)
  • Adverse media review across regional and international sources
  • Source-of-wealth and source-of-funds attestation
Corporate due diligence dossier

CEDD · Corporate Enhanced Due Diligence

Beneficial ownership traced through the chain.

Beyond incorporation. Ultimate beneficial owner mapping, director-level adverse media, sanctions screening, and operating-history verification.

  • UBO mapping across cross-border corporate structures
  • Sanctions and adverse media on directors and shareholders
  • Operating history, litigation, and regulatory standing review

Common questions

Things institutions ask first.

Are we still the data controller?+

Yes — you remain the data controller; VEDDA is the processor of the verification artefacts. The bank fulfils its CIP obligations under the Kenya Data Protection Act without holding raw PII custody.

What about applicants outside Kenya?+

PIV is designed for Diaspora corridors. Subjects in the US, UK, and EU complete biometric liveness and electronic signature remotely — geolocation-stamped and adjudicated against issuing-country registries where available.

How does pricing work?+

Annual subscription for unlimited institutional reports, branch seats per operational location, and standardised per-event pricing for PIV and CIV. Talk to us for an institutional quote.

What happens if a subject fails liveness?+

Synthetic Shield flags the artefact and routes to a senior analyst. If genuine fraud is suspected, the institution receives an adverse certificate — no false positives are silently passed.

Where is verification data stored?+

Encrypted, on Africa-region servers, fulfilling the residency mandates of the Kenya Data Protection Act. Institutions receive only the certificate; the raw artefacts remain under VEDDA's chain of custody.
